FOOD & DRINK
ALL DAY DINING
Our all-day dining menu is served from 8.00am to 9.30pm (with a slight break on Sundays between 11am and noon to allow us to re-set for Sunday lunch). Kick off the day with a hearty breakfast or something savoury on toasted sourdough,
Pop in for a lunchtime sandwich or to tuck into fish and chips. Something lighter? You’ll find home-made soups and pork pies, interesting salads, traditional ploughman’s… and plenty of freshly made cakes and puddings. In the evenings we also have additional choices on our dinner menu.
We might be a pub, but we believe no day is complete without afternoon tea. It’s the real deal: crust-less sandwiches, a choice of scones (cream and jam, too) and wicked cakes. Or just pop in for home-made scones and cream.
Everything is baked daily in our kitchens. Eat in any of our dining areas or in the cloisters – outside on sunny days, too. Unstuffy and informal, we don’t mind if you make lots of crumbs. Available daily from 12pm – 5pm.
Served from midday until 8.00pm, our Sunday lunches are about relaxing with family and friends. So expect generous portions of hearty food served without fuss or formality.
There is always a choice of roasts, plus fish and vegetarian alternatives. Of course, there’s Yorkshire pudding! Desserts are traditional – and pretty hard to resist.
For some occasions you want something a little special. Perhaps it’s a birthday, an anniversary or a surprise celebration. The private dining room of our Northumberland pub has a large, handsome table that can seat up to 20 guests. With open beams, a wood-burning stove and huge windows, the room creates a warm and inviting atmosphere; the perfect backdrop for anything from a relaxed lunch to an afternoon tea to a surprise dinner.
For our smaller guests we have a great kids menu. Full of the same quality food as our grown-ups menu but without the fussy bits. Choose a main course, dessert and drink for just £5.00.
