Ted’s Tails from St Mary’s Inn

Well I’m here!

Taking you on a trip to a new pub she said. Only twenty minutes from Newcastle but out in the country. Lots of dogs to meet, and, best of all, dog popcorn and dog beer!

That got me going. Dog beer! Don’t know what it is but it sounds good to me. And popcorn! I’ve seen my BF Joester and his buddy Oscar eating that stuff and it looks pretty good to me. Now they do it for dogs. Well why not. And it’s chicken flavour. Oh my I can feel myself drooling already.

Quick, go get the car and take me there.

What!! You’re packing my bed as well… You mean I can stay there too?  You’re not leaving me behind. Oh I love you, I love you. Extra big licks for that.

A dog friendly pub where you can stay too. And it serves great food and beer for you guys too. And it’s owned by the Jesmond Dene House people so it must be good (I know that ‘cos my mum works there!)

Now I’m here and yes she was right. It’s dog heaven. And they like me. Think I’ll stay here for a bit.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE - UPDATED 1st July 2020

Dear Friends of St Mary’s Inn,

Despite the Government confirming that pubs, bars, restaurants and hotels will be allowed to open on 4th July, under specific distancing restrictions and other COVID-19 safety measures, the ongoing welfare of our staff and customers are paramount to us.

We have reviewed extensively how we could comply with these regulations and still operate and serve our customers safely, and with the warmth and hospitality our business is based upon. Our conclusions are that St Mary's Inn will remain closed until we are convinced in the future that we can control events safely and in a hospitable trading environment.

We appreciate all the messages of support we have received and we will certainly be back when conditions permit us to serve you all in a safe environment.

Best wishes to all,

St Mary’s Inn.
