Weddings are about celebrating your union with the ones you love the most. We’re not stuffy, prim or proper; we’re relaxed, fun and friendly – somewhere where everyone can let their hair down and celebrate. We’ve a pretty exterior – perfect for pictures; we’ve 2 versatile, private spaces – accommodating daytime and night time celebrations alike; we’ve 11 cosy bedrooms – so, you need not drive home; we’ve food to satisfy one and all – from pub favourites to our more sophisticated dishes; and we’ve a fully-stocked bar – so, there’s no excuse for anyone not to dance!
At St Mary’s Inn, we like to spend the time to get to know our Brides and Grooms-to-be: to help them design their perfect day, their way. As well as ‘off-the-shelf’ packages, we encourage couples to share their own visions of the perfect day.
Tall windows, elegant beams and a wood-burning stove make the Hine room rustic, photogenic and homely all at once. For intimate Weddings, we can comfortably seat up to 22 to dine and 25 for ceremonies – with room for an adorable aisle!
The Kendall room is bight and airy; with triangles of sunlight cascading from the ceiling! We can sit 36 guests for Wedding Breakfast, 50 guests for evening reception buffet-style and the room makes a mean dance floor – if you’re planning a band or DJ!
Both rooms have quick access to our outdoor terrace, perfect for drinks and photographs in the sunshine.
Let the party help themselves to our buffet menu; with options from Lamb Kofka’s with Tzatziki to Pork and Sage Sausage Rolls. Whatever your dining style, we’ve got your covered.
Keep them coming with our canape menu! With options such as mini fishcakes, lamb spring rolls, to goat cheese tarts and mushroom arancini – it’s sure to kick off the party!
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ST MARY’S INN, 22/03/2020
Dear Family and Friends of St. Mary’s Inn,
We are absolutely committed to the well-being, health and safety of our guests and staff.
The COVID-19 virus is rapidly spreading throughout the world and each Government is following their own strategy to minimise the impact on their people.
The UK Government have advised most recently that people should avoid pubs, theatres, clubs, and by implication, restaurants, though businesses are left to make their own operational choices based on their unique circumstances.
This is a rapidly changing situation and in order to ensure we put our guests and staff at the front of our considerations we have made the decision to temporarily close the Inn effective from 19:00hrs, Sunday, 22nd March 2020.
We will keep everyone advised as the situation changes and look forward to welcoming you all back at the earliest possible time and in accordance with future Government and WHO advice.
We wish the people of the village of Stannington, our guests who travel so far to see us, and our loyal staff and your families well through this difficult time.
The St. Mary’s Inn team
